Illustration Friday Submission: Dip
I decided to join in on the fun over at illustration friday. Here is my submission for this weeks topic: Dip. It’s all about fondue.
30 Minute Freestyle # 9: Vintage
Here’s a new one. I decided a little simplicity was in order after the insanity of the last one. So here’s a little throwback to the good ol’ simple, sentimental recollections of Buddy Holly and the likes. Enjoy!
30 Minute Freestyle#8: Soccer is the Best.
Here is a 30 minute design to inform you of something very significant: Soccer is absolutely, positively the best. Just deal with it.
Awesome “Push Your Ideas” Video
This is probably one of the best short videos I have seen in quite a long time. Wonderful and inspiring. Rethink Scholarship at Langara 2010 Call for Entries from Rory O'Sullivan and Simon Bruyn on Vimeo.
30 Minute Freestyle #7: Swing!

30 Minute Freestyle #6: Purple Platypus
Thanks to Kelsey Pentecost for the aliteration. What words for tomorrow?
30 Minute Freestyle #5: The Kleenex Philanthropist
Another Illustration in 30 minutes! The words today were provided by Mr. Josh Ungerecht. Do you have any words you want to challenge me with?
30 Minute Freestyle #4: Vulture Fedora
Today’s 30 Minute Freestyle features a special twist. Miss Heather Green (of greensies, and also my wonderful sister) suggested that I turn some of these freestyles into a word association game. She offered the first two words: Vulture and Fedora.
What two words would you like to see made into a design?
Give me two words and maybe it will become the next 30 minute freestyle!
30 Minute Freestyle #3: Satch
The third installation in the 30 Minute Freestyle series is here! This time it’s a tribute Louis Armstrong. Check it out!
30 Minute Freestyle #2 : Choose Wisely
Here it is, 30 minute freestyle # 2. If you missed Freestyle #1, you can find it here. I was reading “Eating Animals” by Jonathan Safran Foer this morning, and I guess it kind of crept in there a bit. What do ya’ll think?
30 Minute Freestyle # 1
In the spirit of “make something cool everyday” and in an effort to foster the joy of creating and to make sure I spend some time everyday testing/pushing myself, I am beginning a new series of blog posts called “30 Minute Freestyle.”
I plan on starting with a blank canvas everyday and seeing what I can come up with in 30 minutes. That is the only rule. 30 minutes.
Site is finally up and running again!
Finally, my site is back online! I’m sorry about all that and I thank you for your patience. I think I am now settled for a while although you can expect to find some little changes every once in a while.
Creative Thinkers that Inspire
I was recently asked who my current favorite artists are; it was a great chance to take a break and consider who’s work I continuously return to for inspiration and for the pleasure of seeing what they have created. Here are a few people that I’ve never met, but who’s work I admire and who influence me. Comment with people who inspire you!

Stop Motion: Design Meets Video
Stop animation is delightful. Everyone knows it. Why do I love it? I love it because it removes the glitz and glamor from video. Stop animation can’t be redeemed by a high-definition camera or a thousand dollar video editing program. It is accessible to anyone … Read More →
New Favorites: The Yellow Bird Project
This was my lovely discovery of the week. The Yellow Bird Project is more or less a charitable organization based on selling great t-shirts commissioned by top independent musicians. If you’ve got a indie/scenester bone in you, then these guys will definitely tickle your fancy. … Read More →

Jeannie Harrell took the song Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler, and turned it into a flowchart. Who said that flowcharts are boring? Take that.
