I was just notified that my essay proposal for “History from the Ground Up: The Zine as Model for a More Inclusive Design History” was accepted, and I will be part of a panel titled Art with a Spine: Little Magazines, Zines, and Modernism beyond the Canon for the program at the 2018 SECAC Conference, October 17-20, 2018 in Birmingham, Alabama.
While I’ve been around and nearby, this will be my first visit directly to Birmingham. I definitely am looking forward to seeing a new part of the country.
