The Blue Stream Fiber project brought together four separate websites and three distinct business units under one URL, requiring intensive content planning and organization as well as development of a unified brand voice.

Blue Stream had four separate sites—a result of acquiring organizations and expanding their services—each with unique copy and service offerings. They hoped to combine them into one site that would not only unify the visual design but also clarify, organize, and reduce the volume of content spread out across the current four sites.
Finding the flow
User research, journeys, flows, persona development, and other tactics led to the first iterations of the Blue Stream’s new site architecture. Three distinct personas representing three key audiences drove much of our early decision making.
Making waves
The main goal of this project was to bring together several different standalone sites into one online presence, but it was also the first step in solidifying the brand’s visual language, including the creation of standard layouts and graphic elements that would influence their broader marketing work. The calm waves, fluid layouts, and copy reinforcing the feeling of relief that they offer their customers through their service.
Set the vibe
Style tiles were a critical step in focusing and extending the brand visuals in ways that would not only enrich the design work but also address some issues of accessibility in the limited brand color palette.
Speaking multiple languages
Florida’s robust Spanish-speaking community prompted the creation of a site that feels as natural in Spanish as it does in English. The site auto-detects language settings from visiting users to provide a welcoming first impact and offers a toggle to change language at will. Localization tools and base term sets helped accurately and efficiently translate the site.
A Splash of Personality
Blue Stream’s brand is adamantly “ungoofy” but that doesn’t mean they have to be stodgy. Small moments of heightened personality help humanize their brand and increase its relatability.
